Rome and Sorrento 8 days

This is one of our most popular holidays to Italy and has something for everyone. Our holiday begins with a three night stay in Fiuggi, which gives time for a visit to Rome and all of its attractions. Fiuggi is a fashionable spa resort, well known for its mineral water, and is set in the Appenine hills just to the south east of Rome. The surrounding countryside, with pine forests and olive groves, is very picturesque. Fiuggi is a perfect base for visiting the Eternal City, while remaining well away from the noise and traffic of Italy's vibrant Capital city.

We then stay for four nights on the Sorrento Peninsula, which offers dramatic coastal scenery, world famous resorts and fascinating historical sites. Set on top of rocky cliffs on a beautiful headland is Sorrento, a lively resort with spectacular views over the Bay of Naples to the Volcano Vesuvius. In the hills above Sorrento is the charming village resort of Sant Agata, which has a traditional, southern Italian feel to it. From Sant Agata there are spectacular views across both the Bay of Naples and the Bay of Salerno, and also the Amalfi Coast.
